Nestled within the timeworn walls of Lisbon’s 17th century Convento das Bernardas, No Convento celebrates Portugal’s rich culinary landscape and terroir through French gastronomic cuisine.

Where French gastronomy meets Portuguese flavours and terroir

Orchestrated by chef Pedro Henrique Lima and put in motion by head chef João de Oliveira with the support of French chefs Alexis Gielbaum and Maxime Kien, our menu is a narrative informed by the legacy of Portuguese flavours and punctuated with French cooking techniques.

In a world overflowing with noise, we envision No Convento as a contemplative escape that transforms the meal into a moment of reflection.

Through cultural engagement, collaborations with local talents, farmers and artisans, and an unwavering commitment to local, seasonal produce, we wish to craft a dining experience that transcends the ordinary, celebrating the simple and sacred act of breaking bread.

The Convento das Bernardas

Built in the XVII century as a cloister for the Cistercian Nuns of S. Bernardo, the Convent later on played a vital role in education and the arts, even hosting the philharmonic orchestra. It is this lineage as a place of gathering and culture that we wish to continue.

A dialogue between eras

Framed by 350-year-old stone walls and ancient architectural details that stand as silent witnesses to centuries of change, No Convento unites a landscape of textures, colours, and fabrics that whisper tribute to both the temporal and the timeless.
